TEA GARDEN - open Thursday to Sunday (from April through to november)NB please go to the Tea Garden Tab to see details of days we are closed for Private Functions.Lowther House - build in 1843 - is a modestly proportioned stone building that is part of the Duchy of Lancaster Estate. Set at the end of a long drive in a clearing in Pickering Woods there is a real country feel about it yet it is just a fifteen minute walk down a tree-lined road into Pickering Town Centre.
Bordered on two sides by Pickering Beck and on the other two sides by a wood and Lowther Butts wild flower reserve, it is well placed for a relaxing holiday getaway in a picturesque setting with many attractions close by to keep you entertained. The North York Moors Railway station - Pickering's most popular destination - is just ten minutes walk away and the passing trains can be viewed from our garden.
You can walk into the North York Moors National Park from our gate and the Yorkshire Wolds are near by too. This makes Lowther House the perfect location for exploring this beautiful area. There are also excellent cycle tracks close by and in the near by Dalby Forest. The coast is not far so you can sample the delights of seaside towns like Scarborough, Whitby, Robin Hood's Bay - to name but a few! For those that enjoy history there are many historic sites to visit in this area.
We look forward to welcoming you soon - Elliot & Carole
